D Signed: Demi Lovato's Sonny Line At Target

Filed in archive Fashion Collection , Newest Style on July 22, 2010

Based on Demi Lovato's character Sonny Munroe on Disney's Sonny With A Chance, a fashion line was born.

Everyone loved the eclectic outfits that Sonny Munroe wore in that movie. Now, kids in the US will be able to dress up like Sonny when the "D Signed" fashion line hits Target on 15th August, just a few weeks before school resumes.

"D Signed"will include t-shirts, shorts, skirts, jewelry and bags for girls ages 8 to 12.

According to Reuters: "rather than create traditional merchandise with the characters' likeness, fashion items from D-Signed are those that would be found in Sonny's own closet - if she were a real person."

In real life, Demi Lovato has a great fashion sense. She loves mixing and matching things, and loves mixing colors too.

Check out "D Signed" in Target stores on August 1st. Then watch out for the 2nd collection coming out just in time for winter!

Christian Dior's Fall-Winter 2011 Haute Couture Collection

Filed in archive Fashion , Fashion Collection on July 5, 2010

Monday in Paris, Christian Dior designer John Galliano opened the city's Fall-Winter 2011 Haute Couture Collections in petal-covered gowns and tulip shaped skirts in a variety of colors.

Galliano also fielded cocktail dresses in cream and navy Delft porcelain print, with upside-down tulip shaped skirts in Ceylon blue. Sheath dresses in mohair and boucle were a like a field of wildflowers in bloom. The ballgowns were massive concoctions of petal-shaped tulle, chiffon and droopy lengths of silk - one hand-painted with an oversized peony.

Day two of Paris' haute couture will be on Tuesday with Giorgio Armani's Armani Prive label and storied French house Givenchy. Givenchy opted against a runway show and will just display his collection to clients and the press in private appointments at its Paris showroom.

Considering clients' privacy concerns (a handful of women rich enough to afford couture gowns with price tags approaching that of a nice new car ) was one of the reason for such a decision.

Yellow-Themed Inauguration Of New Philippine President Aquino

Filed in archive Fashion on July 1, 2010

The new (15th) President of the Republic of The Philippines was inaugurated and sworn-in on June 30th. President Benigno Simeon 'Noynoy' Cojuangco Aquino III (now commonly called President Noy) is the Republic's youngest President and the first bachelor President.

His mother is the late and former-President Corazon Cojuangco Aquino (Cory Aquino; 11th President of the Philippines ), who died of colon cancer last year. Yellow was President Cory's color and now the color too of President Noy.

President Noy has 4 sisters, the youngest being Philippine movie and TV personality Kris Aquino who is now one of President Noy's style and fashion adviser. So it wasn't surprising that the inauguration of the new President turned yellow.

Though still not out of mourning, the Aquino sisters ditched black on their brother's special day and donned yellow gowns instead. Kris's gown, on the other hand has been called Big Bird!
